Description :

Ausangate Trek route offers some of the most wonderful scenery in the whole of Cusco area, with many birds and wildlife and also glaciers and andean lakes. Its also one of the most challenging in the region with three high passes over 5,000 metres/ 16000 feet.

Itinerary

Day 1: Cusco – Urcos – Tinki:

Very early we will pick you up from your hotel then we go to the south east of the city and begin our adventure on the way we will see beautiful landscapes and typical and picturesque towns that still preserve their customs and Ancestral customs that enrich our Inka culture. We will stop for lunch and enjoy our picnic in the open air. Continuing with our tour and we arrived at the town of Tinky (3850 masl) where we camped and spent the night.

Day 2:Tinki – Upis:

Very early we will enjoy a succulent breakfast and start the walk through beautiful picturesque landscapes surrounded by llamas, alpacas, sheep and we will walk in the fresh air.

After our walk through this natural landscape we will arrive at UPIS (4400 m.snm) about noon, we will stop for lunch then we will enjoy and relax in the thermomedicinal baths of the community of Upis (Aguas Calientes de Upis).

Day 3: Upis – Paso Arapa – Ausangate

Breakfast very early then we will start our walk it will be a bit long and heavy we will arrive at the first pass known as ARAPA (4800msnm) from where you can see the mountain range and all the nuances of colors due to the vegetation of the area we continue descending to YANACOCHA (4500 masl) or Black Lagoon where we will stop for lunch surrounded by a spectacular panoramic view and then we ascend to the highest point of this route to the extreme pass of AUSANGATE (4850 masl) in where you will feel that you can touch the sky with your hands and contemplate all the beauty that the high Andean nature satisfied with all that nature offers us, we will descend to the edge of the AUSANGATE lagoon (4650 masl) where we will have dinner and camp.

Day 4:Ausangate - Palomani Pass – Jampa.

After breakfast very early at sunrise with an impressive view of the sunrise we will start our walk, if the day before we felt the sky touch with our hands, this day we will have the feeling to be in the sky as we will ascend to the highest pass called Palomani pass (5200 masl) from this part we will have a spectacular view like never before we will see in the landscape colors of nature lagoons in the distance drawn by sunlight and snow Ausangate at its best, what an emotion to feel that one is in heaven and surely this wonderful feeling will take your breath away.
We will descend feeling the dry cold reaching a valley where we will have lunch and then ascend to our camp to Jampa (4700 masl), dinner and camp.

Day 5:Jampa – Jampa Pass – Pachanta - Tinki

Breakfast very early we will start with our walk ascending to Paso Campa (5100msnm) and continue with the descent towards the thermomedicinal baths of PACHANTA (4350msnm) we will stop to relax in the thermal baths then we will have lunch then we continue to Tinki where we do our last camp, dinner and overnight.

Day 6:Tinki – Cusco

As usual, a succulent breakfast, then we will start our return by bus on the way, we will appreciate rustic populated fields with thatched roofs. We will make the last stop for our lunch. You can stop in Tipon to eat Cuy or in Saylla to eat pork rinds.
